Wage: $25.42/hr
Weekly Hours: 36 hrs per week, must be available for days, evenings, nights, and weekend shifts.

Job Title: Health Care Aide
Job duties:
● Adhere to the plan of care as determined by the supervisor.
● Facilitate residents’ move-in and transfers where applicable.
● Observe and report on residents/clients’ care/service utilizing appropriate forms or tools.
● Assist the resident/client with personal care and hygiene and activities of daily living.
● Observe and report on changes in residents/clients’ conditions to the supervisor.
● Escalate medical emergencies to the supervisor or emergency medical services as appropriate.
● Plan and prepare nutritious meals as required.
● Assist with ambulation, mobilization, transferring, and adaptive aids.
● Demonstrate understanding of resident/client needs and maximize abilities.
● Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support to the resident/client/family.
● Respond to resident/client/family concerns and ensure appropriate action taken within decision-making authority and or concern communicated to supervisor.
● Assist in maintaining a safe and cleanly environment, including residents/clients’ equipment, belongings, and nursing equipment.
● Observe & report to the Client Service Supervisor any concerns regarding the client’s safety, including physical environment, implement interventions as directed by his/her supervisor & advocate on the client’s behalf to ensure the client’s safety is maintained.
Qualifications:
Recognized Health Care Aide Certificate or equivalent
Grade 12 or GED
First Aid
Eligible for registration with the BC Care Aide and Community Health Worker Registry
Food Safe 1 (post July 29, 2013) or equivalent
COVID 19 Vaccination Records
Able to communicate information in English both verbally and in writing
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal courteously and positively with residents/clients, resident’s family, visitors and team members
Demonstrates flexibility by changing routine to accommodate residents/clients needs
Experience: Work experience is an asset
Language: English
